On Saturday, January 25th I had the privilege of attending a truly special event hosted by EMPOWEREDbyWMN and Lo and Behold Events. Originally planned as an anniversary celebration for EBW, the event quickly transformed into something far greater— a fundraising effort to support those affected by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. What struck me most was the speed and intentionality behind the pivot. Within just two weeks, Krystal, the founder of EBW, and Lo + Behold, turned their plans into a beacon of hope and support for those in need.

A Community United

The event brought together an incredible lineup of sponsors, food vendors, and contributors, all committed to making a difference. From the silent auction and raffle to thoughtful services like headshots and permanent jewelry (a percentage of which also supported the fundraiser), every aspect of the evening was designed to maximize the impact for wildfire relief. Most impressive was that 100% of the proceeds from the event went directly toward supporting the cause.

Heartfelt Leadership

Krystal, the visionary behind EBW, truly embodies what it means to lead with authenticity and heart. Her ability to rally people, resources, and energy so quickly speaks volumes about her dedication to her mission. As someone who has been part of EBW, I’ve personally benefited from her guidance and collaborative spirit. In fact, she played a key role in helping me fill seats for one of my creative workshops. Krystal’s unwavering commitment to supporting women in business is inspiring, and it’s no surprise that she was able to orchestrate such a meaningful event.

A Beautiful Evening

The event itself was stunning. From the thoughtful decorations to the delicious food, every detail was beautifully executed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, a true reflection of the EBW community and experience of Lo + Behold Events. I loved meeting new people and connecting with others who share the same heart for giving back. What stood out most, though, was the collective willingness to support such an important cause.

I was excited to hear all about the action plan for how the funds raised from the event would be used. It was reassuring to see the thoughtfulness and intention behind EBW’s efforts, ensuring that the donations would have a meaningful and lasting impact for those impacted by the LA fires.

As I reflect on the evening, I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such a vibrant, purpose-driven community. Empowered by Women continues to inspire and uplift through its dedication to fostering collaboration and support among women. I look forward to more events and opportunities to be involved, knowing that each gathering brings with it a chance to connect, grow, and make a difference.
